Noreeta was called to the Malaysian Bar and admitted to the roll of Advocates and Solicitors in December 1997 after obtaining her law degree from the University of Warwick, England in 1995. Noreeta completed her pupillage with Messrs Shahrum Shah Chin & Mahathir in 1998 and thereafter joined Messrs Hiew & Loh as an Associate heading the real property department of the firm. During her time with the firm, she handled various aspects of the practice including litigation and general corporate, and worked closely on matters pertaining to financing in the real estate sector.
In May 2008, she joined Azmi & Associates under the Real Estate, Financial Services, and Islamic Banking Practice Group. During her tenure, she has represented major real estate developers and investors in the negotiation and documentation of transactions in the areas of development, construction, acquisition, sale, and sale/leaseback transactions. She has also acted in numerous large-scale land development projects involving high-rise office buildings, mixed retail and residential complexes, industrial buildings, and commercial developments. She has extensive experience in banking and financial services which includes general banking business, trade finance, project finance, bridging finance, syndicated loans, acquisition finance, real estate finance, Islamic finance, and asset-backed securitisation. She has also worked on cross-border advisory transactions which involve foreign financing by foreign single/syndicated banks.
